What is the right thing to do?

Featured Replies

Alright, heres the situation. Say you were out on your boat, and all of a sudden a storm rolls up. What would be the correct thing to do? Say you forgot to watch the weather channel or you were in a tournament and bad weather hit suddenly. Where would you go if you could not make it/unsafe to make it back to the ramp? What would be the safest place to be?

Thanks guys

Don't know if this is what you should do, but I make a bee line for one of many empty boathouses littered around the lake I primarily fish, dock the boat and wait it out.

Sounds like a winner to me.  Always remember that if you can hear thunder....you can get struck by lightning :o

I was thinking that too, its what I would do. It might make someone mad, but better that then something else..

Thats what I do if bad weather pops up fast.

I've on several occasions ran the boat up on the bank and gotten out; getting off the water is the only safe thing to do.

1. Find shelter immediately, head for the nearest land.

2.  Learn something from what you just went through so it never happens again.
