The Lure Matrix

Featured Replies

I recently read about a fishing matrix for sale that essentially guides you through water color, temperature, fish location, lighting etc then it tells you a lure and retrieve to use to fish that particular combination of environmental characteristics.  Anyone have experience with that type system or think it would be worthwhile?

How did you determine fish location in order to use the device?

I agree with Cart. As advertised, the Matrix only takes care of about 10% of the guesswork. You still have to find where the fish are. Not worth the money if you ask me.

i have never used one but in my opinion its all  ,,i say this because it is basically making a fish 2 dimensional, like sayin all people in a state eat the same things, with they dont.every fish wants somthing different and will feed on what it wants to not what all the others want..also fish feed whanever they get a chance.so if a bass see's what appears to be a shad race past it it will hit it regardless

Let's face it, if there actually was a program or device that you could input all the specific data for a lake you were fishing and it spit out specific locations, lures, colors, presentations, etc.  and it worked...

fishing wouldn't be anywhere near as fun and there'd be no reason for this site to even exist.

You hit the nail on the head, Cart7.  What fun would it be to have all the questions answered for you, so that every time you go out all you have to do is look at a tool that tells you exactly what to do to?  Much of the fun is learning the skill aspects and figuring out the pattern so that you can lure the bass in.  And, as others have said, this tool can't find the fish for you.

The biggest asset an angler can have is confidence in themself and the bait they are using.  I look back at when I first started fishing lakes and I was not very successful.  But when I began to have confidence in my baits and the confidence to stay in a particular area that I thought should hold fish, I began to catch more and better quality fish.

It has that gimmicky feel to it, but if you think about it, it could be pretty good resource for a new basser.

I never saw, nor heard of it but if is a computer program why wouldn't it be a valid tool?

If the database is sufficiently robust and the programmers made a sincere effort to create a reliable product, it merely does what most experienced bassers intuitively do anyway.

Water color, temperature, ambient light conditions etc. are the precise factors that we use to determine where the fish are most likely to be, and what lure and/or presentation is most likely to catch them.

Of course if they are making ridiculous claims, my favorite is "might be banned in tournaments" then I would run not walk away.

Avid, I believe this is what he is talking about.  Dcl27, if I am wrong about this, let me know.

I agree that it could be of some assistance, but if I were a Newbie and I was going to use this I would treat it as a learning tool only.  The cost for a soft or hard copy is $29.95 and the program is $39.95.

Yes, that is what I was talking about. I didn't know if it would be worth the investment. I've been out of fishing so long I have a tough time sometimes figuring out what to throw. As far as the fish "location" I think they meant, suspended over structure, on the surface, on the bottoms etc.  I have no idea how you would necessarily know that.

Thank you all for the responses.

LBH hit it right on the head...one word...GIMMICK. ok maybe two....BIG GIMMICK!

Y'all each send me $39.95 (minimum 1,000 applicants required) and I will in return guide you through water color, temperature, fish location, lighting etc then tell you a lure and retrieve to use to fish that particular combination of environmental characteristics.

Shoot I'll even throw in a free bait  ;)
