Old topwater trick...

Featured Replies

Some of you old school guys may already know this, but it's one of those tricks you youngsters may not know of.  If you use chapstick on the first three-four feet of line in front of your topwater; your line won't absorb any water, and floats higher.  This results in an easier to work bait and can give it a little more action.

That is a trick i haven't heard of in along time since all the newer lines have hit the market.

It does work.

Is it true that cherry Chapstick will make your line invisible to bass? Does it come in garlic or shad flavor? What about generic lip balms, do they work as well as original Chapstick? And where I can buy Chapstick in bulk?

I need help here, people!

Any wax based product works.  Candle wax, ski wax, chap stick, bees wax
