this spring i talked with jimmy houston about fishing while he was at bass pro shop in sav.ga. He said late in summer try using the drop shot, alot of the local ponds i go to will not allow a boat in the water. what could i do to mimic this same acti on from  the bank?and also if a pond has completely grown over with grass but you know there is 10 plus pounders in there what do u use?

Howdy dude.

Welcome to the forums.

I live in SE Florida so weeds an me are know each other real well.

I have dropshotted from shore into weedy areas.

The key is accuracy.  You gotta hit that hole in the weeds, or your toast.

But if you can, it's worth it.    With the drop shot, you don't move the bait.  So if you hit that clean spot, you just jiggle it a little very lightly making sure the sinker holds the rig in place, the bass are in the weeds looking into the open areas.  This will get em.

good luck and have fun.

something ive done with drop shots is tie a small rubber band to that sinker then to a swivel clasp then fix up the drop shot bait so ya get just a lil more wiggle.

what do ya think about that one avid?
