Low water fishin...

Featured Replies

Hello all...

First post..trying out the forum..

I live and fish in Rhode Island. We have had NO RAIN in over a month and the main fishin holes are 3-6 feet below normal water level. Other than using this time to spot the normally underwater structure (which I,m doing) any ideas on fishin in these low water conditions? I fished the grass topss yesterday..nothing. Spinner baits...nothing. I'm thinking drop shots thorugh the grass???

Any ideas???

thanks!!

How Y'all Are?

Rhode Island huh, sounds like a job for Low_Buget_Hookers  ;)

I could try to look for drop offs, that may be deeper in normal water level but aren't as deep in the shallower water.

Use a jig and crawfish in the grass beds.  Just make sure you have so strong line 20 lb or higher to pull the jig up out of the thick cover.  You will also have to get used to pulling weeds off of the jig, its a little bit more work but if you get a big LMB it will be worth the effort.  Just my 2 cents.
