We have come up with something we want to try this year.  We want to pick special anglers out and do a profile on them so we can all get a little deeper look into the lives of those we respect.

The number 1 requirement to be one of the BR Elite, is to be a positive role model for the youth of the site.  For all of us for that matter, but especially the youth.

Secondly, they should be avid fisherman who are consistent, positive member of the community.

We will feature 1 angler/month thusly forming the "BR Elite 12" for the 2008 season.  

So stay tuned for the announcement of the January Elite member, we hope you enjoy this new feature.

1st one is up, please critique it.  My goal is to highlight positive role models.

You're concerns were forethought however, I specifically didn't add "PB" or anything like that as a question.  This is not about being better than anyone else.  There is no competition here.  

also, these will not ALWAYS be members of the site.  If someone in the  industry is doing new and special things, we may decide to do one on them.  Nothing "clique-y"

I think it is a bad idea. It will become an enless back and forth banter of who should or should not be and endless streams of nonsense of the same...If you want to nominate someone each month for doing an outstanding job, get the mods together and a panel and elect one according to their proven merits. It should be someone than dedicated their time to help a worthy cause ...NOT FISHING MERITS

Hey fish for dollars: Read Russ's original post THE CRITERIA is based on just that , not fishing ability.

 The Mods put something together nice, they do this all for free, and why not try this out before we say it can't work 8-)

My initial impression of the idea was not good.  I understood all along from LBH's post that they had every intention of running it right to solve the problems it could create.  I still think that if it is not ran perfectly feelings could get hurt, but Glenn and all the mods are very good at running a first class ship.  So I think they deserve the benefit of the doubt to give it a go if wanted.  Its pretty cool to give good people the attention they deserve if it can be done in the right way.  If anyone can do it Bass Resource can. 8-).

yeah,the way LBH explained it helped.I just wanted to say something early so nothing later on would brew from this.The way they run this site and board they definely do deserve the benefit of doubt.I didn't mean to start anything. LoL I was just hoping to clear anything if anything.

It's not a "who's the best fisherman" type of thing. It's way deeper than that. BR is just trying to recognize some members that stand out in everyday life as well as on this forum.....giving us a different perspective of what these people do and how they came up. I thought the first one with Alpster was a grand slam.
