Swallowed the hook

Featured Replies

Hey Guys,

What it the best way to get the hook out when it's half way down the basses gullet? I don't want to rip it out and it takes too long to get it out without hurting the fish. The fish should not be out of the water for more than 30 seconds for maximum chance of survival. So... any ideas?

Thanks

Thanks to you all for the warm welcome and for guiding me to the answer to my question. It was very helpful.

I just started getting back into fishing. I grew up on a lake in Ohio but was more into water skiing than fishing at that time. Now that I'm older, and have a bad knee... fishing is more my style today. I'm getting addicted. Especaily after catching a 6lb Bass soon after I started fishing last month. They got the biggin's here in Texas. The biggest one I ever caught in Ohio was 3lbs. I need a boat though. It's hard fish from the shore lines on these lakes around here. I found a couple of good ponds I can fish. I hooked ten pounder in one of them the first time I fished it. My 8lb mono line didn't hold up and I had the drag to tight. The next day I bought some 20lb braided line. I have been back there many times trying to catch here again. I think she's on to me, though.

Thanks again!
