Dish pushed about 10 new HD channels today.

Why not on Comcast????? I want that channel so bad.

Sweet, makes me feel even better about picking Dish over Direct, had no choice to go with Comcast they said they couldn't run cable to my new house.

I just got Direct TV a few months ago.  I was getting the outdoor channel for most of that time.

Suddenly one day the channel was blacked out. It said the trial time was over and I'd have to purchase the addtional programming to get it.  I checked it out,  $10 a month for outdoors and a bunch of sports channels I have absolutely no interest in .

Take a look at all those fsn sports channels cart7 they show some different fishing shows than outdoor channel or versus.

Great news! Great news! Thank you so much for the heads up on this. I assume, unlike cable, that it's channel 396 for all Dish customers. I really miss channel 218. I like Versus, but they have a lot of additional shows I don't care about. Other than fishing and hunting, I do love the Tour de France, I could do without the other shows. I do of course realize I'm not the only customer so I take what I can get with a smile. The Outdoor Channel OTOH, if nothing's on TV I can watch just about whatever they put on. For me Versus is 151 and Outdoor Channel is 153. I do REALLY miss the other outdoor channel we used to have that went out of business. It was channel 218 for me and they had some really good programs on there. I wish they would have had some kind of PBT telethon for donations. I would have donated to keep them.

You can request TODC individually from Direct.  It will cost you $2.99 per month.

396 is not available via SD.

Oh well, I'll have to continue watching the reality fishing show (per the NY Post) on Lunkerville's website.  My cable company doesn't carry WFN or The Water Channel.  I guess I need more memory on the PC though.  Either that or Mike D pauses and sputters a lot.  ;)

Well Directv has another new sat (D11) that is being moved to it's orbital slot as we speak. Once that is done I'd expect Directv to add this channel and many many more HD channels. I have series links set to record Bill Dance, Hank Parker and others in HD on the VS channel. I'm glad to see Dish adding channels but the recent loss of a satellite meant for HD is going to set thim back compared to Directv in the long run.
