last week i had the pleasure to fish with bassresource's own Low Budget Hooker... LBH had sent in a video submission to Lunkerville, which we featured recently in our "Home Videos From Lunkerville" segment of the show... after looking at a bunch of LBH's videos,i knew he would be a great guest, so we gave him a call and hit the road to lake X, Rhode Island.

the lake was super clear, with big boulders throughout... the weeds hadn't emerged yet, but you could see the dead weed lines from last year... LBH had his spots picked out while his friend Eric followed us in a camera boat... we fished from a 12' jon boat, electrically powered, which was very comfortable.

we banged a couple of shallow fish right off the bat on soft stickbaits and judging by the fat bellies, they were females getting ready to spawn... with that in mind, we continued to target areas where there might be beds, casting at light areas and near visible boulders.

the bite slowed significantly, but LBH worked hard to put us on fish... we passed the time with excellent conversation, food, drinks and a lot of laughs... LBH was a perfect guest, with lots of interesting things to say and totally comfortable in front of the camera... when the bite slowed, he didn't get discouraged as he zipped from spot to spot in search of some greenies... the pickerel came in to play for a while, which is always fun in my book, but this story wasn't over... perseverance paid off and LBH was the hero, putting us on a flurry of nice bass that will make for a great show.

thanks russ and eric for the great hospitality and for making a terrific show and memory!
