I have often asked myself, after the weigh-in during a tournament, do the bass return to their spots, or do they follow the shoreline (upstream / downstream) until they find a comfortable area ?

The answer is yes to both. Some will return to their spot and others will find new ones. I know of a 9lb bass that has been caught on the same spot three or four times and all four times he has been released at the boat ramp 2.5 miles away.

I know of a couple of big bass caught on Toledo Bend that traveled some 10 or 12 miles back to their original home.
