Well, I'm sad to say it's started. Living in the Pacific Northwest means a guy has to deal with rain and wind. Particularly when living right on the coast as I do. We average well over 100 inches of rain per year. Usually around 120.

I picked up bass fishing just this year. It was a blast and I don't want it to end. The water temps are still above 60 but dropping fast. I figure I have two, maybe 3 weeks of fishing left before it gets too cold and too wet for me. (Call me a whimp.)

I fish from a boat and usually fish fairly large coastal lakes althought none of them are very deep.

So any tips for fishing in the rain as the temps cool down?

I wore a garbage bag this summer for a rain jacket.  That might leave you a little cold up there.  Shouldn't you have some killer performance rain gear?  

Doesn't sound very comfortable for fishing up there, reminds me why I won't move North of NC.  ;D  Just get out there and enjoy what time you have left!

ive been in san diego the last 12 year, but i used to fish erie and the rivers in ohio in blizzards. just bundle up and youll get used to it pretty quick.

fishin in snow is way better than rain though.

oh yeah, always  carry a flask of knob creek. it helps sometimes.

I would fish exactly the same as you have been.  As the water cools, the fish will feed heavily, and then that will slow.  When they stop hitting the fast moving baits, tie on a jig and pig and a dropshot and work them extremely slow.  Even in the coldest conditions, you can find fish deep or shallow.

#5 Keep in mind that the bass are well grouped this time of year. It can be a long time between bites, but when you get a fish to hit, there are probably a bunch of them down there. So stick with it.

just go fish i fished with my buddy in the pooring down rain today for about 2 hours and caught 3 decent size fish (around 3 to 4 lbs).. do what you can and be confident.
