Help complete my tackle box..Suggestions

Featured Replies

I have finally decided to check out the different techniques to bass fishing.

I am a shore fisherman and I have enough plastics, jigs, buzzbaits to do. But I'm wondering if you could suggest for me the following. Just reply back with what you think would be best. Brands and model if you can. Cheap is always good too, lol

4 Crankbaits Shallow to Medium

4 Spinnerbaits

4 Topwater

4 Jerkbaits

Thanks for your help, color reccomondations also welcomed. If you need please use *** as a reference.

Thanks,

Also I have none of the above.

If you could put together a lot to sell, contact me and let me know.

;D :) ;D :D :D

Can't go wrong with some Bombers.

Get a couple of Secret Weapon Lures minikits - like having four spinnerbaits in one, for $10.

2x Zara Super Spooks, 1 black broke-back Jitterbug, 1 Sammy 115 in Aurora Black.

2x Rapala X-Rap XR-10, 2x Pointer 100.

For colors, I like a white bait and something with a blue black back. Primary baitfish in my area are alewife. If yours is shad, then something more golden or golden-purple woulod suit you.

I realize the Pointers and Sammy are pricey baits, but the Sammy and the Pointers are very much worth every penny.

Check out the jackall lures at tackle warehouse. Their lures were designed by the guy who made a bunch of lucky craft lures, pointer for example, so they are like Lucky Crafts on steroids lol

I know you said you have enough plastics but one Jackall lure in particular will help you from the bank, the cover craw, you really need to check it out. You rig it from head to back instead of back towards head and it falls backwards so it slips into weird places. If you look on the cover craw thread their is a link to a video showing you what I mean and people fishing it from the bank in Japan.

Thanks for the response, I checked out the Secret Weapon website and if your Active Duty Military they will give you one free setup with any purchase I purchased two Minikits and got one free. Very good deal for $ 20 bucks.

I'll talk about topwaters. You're already set with buzzbaits. I'd add something weedless, like a hollow frog, for working slowly in vegetation. Also a soft plastic for buzzing in weedy areas, such as Sizmic, Horny Toad, Ribbit or something in that category.

For hard baits, poppers are good for keeping a bait in an area for a while by jerking and pausing. There are walkers for covering water, such as Zara Spook and similar baits. I use Jitterbugs almost exclusively when fishing hard baits on the surface, but I'm not necessarily recommending that you do that, I'm just mentioning my own blind loyalty and confidence in that lure.

Good luck.

Try the Diawa peanuts, I in particular like the shallow one, I have the 5 footer too, but I like the 3 better. As far as colors go, I fish really stained ponds so I like little flash such as their black and silver one. I would suggest if you are interested in buying one hit up Cabelas instead of BPS, as Cabelas has a better selection of colors.
