Scott Martin Challenge?

Featured Replies

Does anyone watch the Scott Martin Challenge? I just watched it and found out he is Roland Martins son. I did not know that. I like the format of the show and found it entertaining and a little educational.

Thats my favorite fishing show. Tournament setting, on the clock. Definitely DVR material.

I Tivo every episode so I don't miss the show, one of my favorites.  I like how he started this season fishing with his two young boys.  The kids schooled Scott on fishing when one of them landed an 8lb bass.  Scott lost that challenge because of that fish.

I had no idea also.

It makes sense, but I never thought about it

It's an entertaining show

what channel is it on, I need to see it

One of the better fishing shows imo. I look forward to it every Tuesday morning! :)

Scott's a member of this site. His show is full of very useful infomation. I bought both his seasons and watch them all the time.

Yep, one of my favorites! I first started watching it during the last season and the first few show I would wonder then I did some checking online and found out he was Rolands son, Pretty cool! I also really liked that episode he did with his boys!

I passed Scott Martin last year I was on my way out to fish the Potomac River and I saw his rig so I drove by him and he looked like he was sleeping in the truck. Maybe since he is a member of this site I can challenge him...

HAHA ;D

I agree, it's definitly one of the best bassin shows on t.v..Also his Dad Roland has a good show too, both are imho very informative.. 8-)

Scott certainly learned how to feature his sponsors from his dad.

I like this show also.  It seems that all of the fishing shows have turned into one big infomercial.  Once you get past that I think Scott and Roland produce 2 of the most informative shows on tv.

I DVR it but its not the best..

1. The Bass Pros-no question, 3 segments per show

2. Classic Patterns-all info

3. Bass Edge-you could make a case for any of the top 3 as the best

4. Day on the Lake-a distant 4th but could be alot better if done right, every pro fishes the same lake same time of year this season (postspawn, Montecillo in ARK, last time they all fished in the winter  :( :(

5. Bassmasters

6. City Limits

7. Scott Martin Challenge-close with City Limits but not as much info

8. FLW Outdoors-very little talk about what they are doing, in bad need of good hosts to talk some, and 15min of show is weigh-in

9. In-Fisherman if it was all bass would be much higher

10. Worlds Greatest fishing show-funny but not a ton of info

Worst show-Charlie Moore

Much agreement to below, but I rank City Limits up to #3, and Bassmasters #1.  (I still have the '08 season on DVR and always find myself re-watching the Florida leg, picking up good pointers for my local waters)  I can't find Bass Edge anymore...they must have moved off of Versus.

I am REALLY hoping FLW Outdoors moving to Versus will result in a change in their production value on par with Bassmasters.

I love the Scott Martin Challenge, definately one of my favorites.  I loved the episodes on Saranac Lake/River.  That's near me.  But he cannot say ADIRONDACK mts!

One of my favorite shows and that episode along with the one with his father are my two favorite. Loved how excited he was for his boys and reminded me of fishing with my dad. My dad passed away this past summer and my son is only two so the shows helped me see both the past and the future.

Mrbassky right on with the top picks, they are the best for information

If I'm just watching a show for entertainment then these are my three

1. Ultimate match fishing

2. City Limits

3. Jimmy Houston

let me change out three if we are considering Bassmasters as a show

i really like scott martin's show... it's informative and he has a likable on-camera presence... i've also heard some really nice things about him, specifically how he helps younger fishermen.

I enjoy this show.  I LOVE Champlain, and he had a show there, and it was cool to see him leave out of Ticonderoga, fish some areas we fish, then return to the docks and weigh in.  What a cool show, and a very down to earth guy.  Great show.

I love the Scott Martin Challenge. My other is UMF (Ultimate Match Fishing). Both are less of infomercials and more just flat out fishing.
