You are out on the lake in your aluminum boat and a quick storm blows in with lightning?  Get to shore as quickly as possible and get out and wait for it to pass????

Yeah, I would say to get out of it as quick as possible.

or it could be like caddyshack and you could catch that fish of lifetime, right befrore your hit with lightning  ;D

First, seek shelter under an open boat dock.

Second, get to shore and get out of the boat.

I watch the weather very closely and have never had a problem, other than one time on Lake Gaston in a tournament.

We spent some time under an open boat house until the storm passed.

Watched a snake in the water do its chores. Saw it swim to the left and then it came back with a small bream in its mouth on the way back.  Never say that before.  

lower all rods, get as low in the boat as possible and get to shore as quickly as possible.

caught the biggest sack of my life with a lightning storm coming...8 bass, 52 lbs. in 22 minutes.

looking back, it was one of the dumbest things i ever did.

Dont screw around and get off the water immediately, it aint worth it.  Ive had a handful of close calls that were completely uncool.  Remember, lightning can occur many miles in front of the visible part of the storm, as in it will come straight out of a clear sky.  In other words, you dont have the time you think you have to get off the water safely.

Like others said, get out of there.  Also, don't forget that graphite rods will conduct electricity.
