bbz

Featured Replies

i have a question for yall.   is the bbz lure worth 20 dollars?

I don't own one but from what I've seen they're made with quality components and they have awesome finishes so I would say yes. Senko 77 should be able to give you some good input on this bait.

If you don't have any thing more important to buy , to me they are not worth it.

You can get the Reaction Strike shad baits for $15 and I would rather have it than the Spro. The biggest reason is the Spro bait does a bad helicopter action on the cast and doesn't cast well at all. I like the action on the Reaction Strike better as well. Spro has better paint but I put action and how well it fishes first.

My biggest problem with the bait is the same as Randall.  It spirals on the cast and if there is heavy wind, it can be a problem.  You can still get some distance on it, but I really wish they could have solved this before they put it in production.

I think it is worth the $20, but I have not had the opportunity to try the Tru-Tungsten Shad or the Reaction Strike so I can't honestly compare them.

Yes, the BBZ does have issues on the cast, but its action is awesome and it does catch fish.  The finishes are great on the Herring, Natural and Dirty Shad.  The Sexy Shad color is a good color, but I do not like the way they put on the glitter in the final coat.

The BBZ is a pretty tough bait as well.  I sell a lot of these to Europe, especially France where many guys are using them on pike.  I have seen some great pictures of big fish coming on these baits and they are holding up well to the abuse.

The TruTungsten is a good bait as well.  It does have the advantage of having adjustable weights so you only need two baits to have floating, slow and fast sinking rates while you need three baits with the SPRO.  But, the TT bait is a lot smaller profile than the SPRO and is for me, in a smaller bait category than the SPRO.

I use both both baits.
