Does anybody remember this bass fishing game for PC. I downloaded it to the school's computer in the library when I was an aide in high school 10 years ago - it was freeware. Can't remember the name of the game but it was very low tech. You had a lake and everything was an aerial view. You had a big choice of lures and a ton of rod choices too. Everything was displayed on screen in a dashboard format. You used the cursors to get around and it had a depthfinder. Used the mouse to make casts. All you could see was the lake and the little boat shape casting. Gameplay and graphics were simple but I've yet to find another game that had such accurate fishing patterns. You'd catch a ton of dinks all day and would break off on snags etc. I loved that game but I can think of the name to save my life!

I have an old pc game that sounds very similar to yours. I would check the name of it but its at my relatives house.

It sounds like Trophy Bass. It was the best fishing game ever made. I still have it on my computer and I still play it.

I had a DOS game on floppy disk like that many years ago probably in the early 90s.  The one I had was very simplistic graphically (somewhere between Atari and NES).  I remember you could use scents and and in each lake there was one humongous bass that was nearly impossible to catch.  Pretty sure it pre-dated Trophy Bass by quite a bit.  I do remember losing lots of baits on snags.  I think that was also the game where bowfins would mangle your lures but I could have it confused with another game.  Can't for the life of me remember what it was called.

Bingo! That's exactly what I'm talking about. You had a depthfinder that you used to chase schools of fish or find humps and there was one monster bass out there that was near impossible to catch. Nes style graphics. If you have it my kingdom to you!

Man I wish I still had it.  I spent many hours playing.  A lot of those old games are still floating around the WWW I just wish I could remember the title.  I am going to do my best to scrounge it up.

Okay I found what game it was that I had. It was called Bass Tour and the designer was Dick Olsen in 1991. Now to find a download for it....

you're my hero dude! That's the game - only glitch I can find is that the little status screen that tells you you snagged or hooked a fish or something won't stay up on the screen. it just flashes when you click so you can't really read it. I'm gonna research and see if a better version exists. I'm so happy it's sad!
