How to fish barges, and sails? on a river?

Featured Replies

With warm water temperatures and sunny days Barges offer a lot of good fishing here on the ohio river. I catch quite a few decent fish under/around barges and the big round barge sails they tie off on..

My question; How would u fish barges and the sails sitting anywhere from 10-20ft of water?

River has smallies, lgm, n spots in it..  ::)

personally i like letting wacky rigged senkos fall down the sides or running cranks parallel to the sides.

I like bending the line tie slightly on cranks so that they'll run under them. Also, if there's current, toos plastics or spinnerbaitsupstream and work them through under it.

I'd like to give it a try, but I don't have a combo capable of casting barges. :D :D :D

Just tie on some 2000lb PowerPro and give it a sling!

I'm near the Ohio River about every weekend but can't find anyone with a boat that frequents the river to give it a shot... :(

waky rigged worm dropshot cranks and tubes are what I use here in cincy
