Is there any specific color(s) the work better then others over all?

I fish for pickerel walleye and MAINLY bass.

I honestly use 4in-5in swimbaits

I found some trout design/colors which I was thinking about buying.

I hear they are not very good but i heard the same about the megabait charlie which worked pretty well for me last year...

Anyone have an opinion or suggestion.

I don't want to pay much for lures ($6 or less) since I fish many rocky/brush filled ponds and lakes.

The only Reaction Strike swimbaits I use are the Fathead Jr. I use the Tennessee Shad color. For the style you show, I just use the Storm Swim Shad.

i used the 8" model and don't like it, it feels like chuckin out a piece of tire rubber, but in your case i think it might work out with all the rocks and the teeth those fish have, a good thing is those swimbaits dont rip very easily

i have noticed that the hooks on the megabaits are never straight and off to one side hence will not swim true

dont know anything about fish in your area so no color suggestions but good luck with what ever you decide to go with

The megabait charlies actually worked pretty well.

I actually used a razor to make the slits on the side wider, so now they have more action.

For the price are they worth it?

Is there another brand/type of swimbait for the same/similar price that will out perform these swimbaits?

The Bass Harasser's are horrible. I ordered 2 packs of the 5 inch version. They look great, but had very little action and a tendency to roll, no matter how much tuning I did.

For a small swimbait at a good price get the Mattlures Mattshad.  http://www.mattlures.com/mattshad.htm It may come out costing a little more but it will perform better. If those cost too much then just get the storm baits. If you want a good swimming low price small swimbait then get the Storm Kickn'Minnow. I think it's around $3.

Reaction strike hard swimbaits are junk.

I picked up a kicktail and kicktail slab.

The slab (sunny) out of the box is more of a paper wait.

With a little modification though it now has much more action and swims well.

The slab works well i wish I would have bought a bigger size.

I actually caught two LMB about 1½lbs today after fishing a small pond for about 30 minutes or so...
