Water Temps - How much will they change? Good or bad?

Featured Replies

Hey Folks-

I'm going fishing next weekend (8 days from today), in Alabama.

The current water temp is around 45 where I'm going....Just curious what to expect next weekend, considering the following weather:

Next 4 days - High around 62, low around 42

Following 4 days - High around 53, low around 36

So, with a decent warming trend the next 4 days, then slightly cooler (but still WAY warmer than it's been last couple of months), what do you think the water temp will be?

Also, will this trend help much, or will the 4 days of 53 degrees make it tough again?

Thanks-

BEN

Oh - And I'll be fishing on a small 15-acre lake, with most of depth at around 8-12 feet, and about 20 feet near the dam.

Takes a bit to warm water. But, your fish are already movin'. No worries. With the warming trend try fishing a bit faster and see. If not, gear down with a jig.

More important to me is what will the night time temperatures be, if the nights are clear and cold you will lose all you gained during the day.

you will still catch fish, slow down and down size, i fished it last year and we had severe t-storms each night we were there and the water turned to mud but we still managed to catch a bunch, just nothing big like the lake is known for. good luck and loking forward to a report. ill be there in march

I was asking myself the same question - I live in birmingham and will be going on next sat. or sun. to fish some ponds ans small lakes in marion.....hope it warms up enough to turn em on a bit more than the current 45 degree water temp - it has been so darn slow with this cold :)
