Don Barone story on ESPN

I was looking at the live blog from the Classic and see a story from db (Don Barone).  Met him briefly at the Road Trip last year and he seemed like a nice enough fellow, if not a little eccentric.

I started to read this story and honestly didnt see what it had to do with anything.

By the time I got to the end, I had a tear in each eye.

This guy can really write.  He certainly has a style all his own.

Just finished, guys take the time to read this. If your not familiar with DB's style, it might be a bit of a hard read at first, but Barone puts you in his head, he always does.

Great job DB in bringing staff sergeant Brent Homan and his story to us. God bless Homan and all that serve!

Indeed a good read

I think I ticked him off last year. Keri introduced us in the lobby, we chatted. Later that night, I pulled his latest article up and started reading. Fell asleep without getting through the article.

Told him the next day that his article had put me to sleep, don't think he liked that too much. ;D

Indeed a good read

Thanks Speed,

I have followed db's work for several years but like you, just met him last season. He's a truly gifted writer and this particular story is classic db. IMO, he's a dedicated student of human nature who is able to share spontaneous thoughts detailing any complexities in simple and real terms.

He makes note of the obvious, yet is able to find a real story that's often far from the obvious.

While I was sharing Rage Tails with others yesterday, he came by just for a smile and hand shake. This too is classic db.....
