$1 shipping @ bass pro

Featured Replies

Great deal at bass pro shops, this week only $1 shipping on Internet orders over $100. Just sent for my $200 worth. They said it was because KVD won the classic.

$1 shipping! This is the perfect time to get some one piece rods if you dont have a local store.

Do they have any restrictions?

Either way I will use the shipping dollar for gas to just drive there next week.

Cabelas has free shipping until march ninth on orders 150.00 or more.

Good deal for those who don't have local BPS.  My monkey's fortunate to have two local BPS and a Cabelas.

Does it show up at checkout or is there a code you enter? Just checked the website and there is no mention of it. Good point on the 1 pc rods also.

The "fine print" in the BPS email included this statement:

Excludes freight collect, international orders, expedited or oversized surcharges, and special fees.

I have a feeling that the $6 surcharge for 1-piece rods over 6' will still apply... :-/

Yes, there is a special code to enter, but I deleted it[sorry!].

In the e-mail, they say that gift cards and rewards points will not count towards the $100 minimum order.

I took umbrage to that, and asked to speak to customer service, saying it was unfair, and that people that had bought me the gift cards were thinking it was the same as cash as a present.

They then waived that restriction, and allowed me to use my card and rewards points to make a order with the $1 shipping .

I don't think you will have ANY luck regarding one piece rod shipping...

Good luck if you try though !!

It irks me to no end that BPS normally charges SO MUCH for shipping, when so many other tackle retailers will give free shipping on orders in excess of $50 or $100 today.

I am not going to name any of the retailers that do offer free shipping, but I will tell you I rarely ever shop BPS now because of their HIGH SHIPPING CHARGES, and have told them that.

Just did the online chat. Rods will still have $6.00 added each. Not too bad otherwise.

Might save me a trip.

I have noticed a lot of companies that have increased their shipping costs or cut out "free shipping" since the economy went sour, and some even force a "shipping surcharge" on "oversized or odd shaped items".

UPS and Fedex charge the same whether it is a 5 lb normal box or a 5 lb long skinny box with a rod and reel inside, so these extra "surcharges" are mostly just pocketed by the companies.

That ticks me off!  >:(

I got some BPS GC for xmas.  I waited and waited for some "special".  Finally the week before Daytona race I put in a BPS order as I couldn't keep fightin' that dang monkey away from the GC's and had to pay for shipping with no other discounts either.

Oh well, at least i got my lucky crafts and that crazy monkey is happy...for now anyway.
