My experience is primarily crankbaits, texas rig for summer night fishin, and surface bait (torpedo/pop r) or buzzbaits in fall.  I have recently started to teach myself to work a jig and some finesse techniques like shakey head and drop shot.

What should i concentrate on as I fish Barren River in KY mostly.  Water is usually stained or worse...

i'd concentrate on what do best and definatly keep working with that jig thier deadly for bass even in murky water like you have...

work on finnese techniques. really when i fish i throw a crank or a spinnerbait to see if i can catch some actively feedsing fish then do the finnese techniques like dropshotting or throwing a chigger craw.

Work on everything, to become a well rounded fisherman..

I.E..some days I only take 2 rods set up with jigs, and I'll only take maybe 4 to 6 jigs with me fishing. I then spend at least 3 to 5 hrs. fihing jigs, i.e. flipping and pitching.

The next time, I'll do the same with another technique. Don't always catch fish, but I find I become better at things that aren't for the time being my strong points.

I've never even thought to do this. I might have to give it a try.

But as stated, fishing jigs can be extremely producing.
