Spinner bait and trailor hook.

Featured Replies

Hey, just a little question

I put on a treble hook as my trailor hook on a spinner bait

Just wondering if there is any reason not to..

Thanks! ;D

I wouldn't do that if the water you're fishing has grass or wood cover.  For open water it should be fine.

I agree that you do not need them really need around grass or wood but it also wouldn't hurt to use them there to catch you that 1 extra fish you need to win the tournament.

Agreed....if there isn't much grass and underwater debris a treble hook would seemingly work wonders, although i have never tried it.  Normally i stick with the just the plain old spinner bait, and on occasion i use a trailer hook if i start to miss bites from slow reacting fish.

I almost always use one ( plain 2/0 ) but I like a lot R B suggestion of a feathered hook

The feathered trailer hook looks great, but not the way you mount it. A trailor hook needs to swing freely. (not rigid mounted)

The feathered trailer hook is a good idea.  I will be trying this tip out.

Thanks ***.
