Ive been fishin a lake called lake bloomington and it is about 700 acres. It has a lot of shad and we have been following the shad and doing pretty well with largemouth but the last few times we have been going through the shad with the same baits which are lipless cranks and spinners. We have only caught one largemouth in the last 2 trips. We tried some wacky worms also with only a few bites but no takers any suggestions?

Depending on the temperature of the water in your lake it could be that the lake has turned over. Which would mean that the bass and bait fish have scattered out more. Could be that the bass have moved up into the shallows.  I'm no pro so Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong.

the first few times we did pretty well in the shallows but the last few times thats mostly what we fished and we hardly caught anything we still saw a lot of baitfish we just couldnt get the fish to bite but maybe they moved out deeper for some reason.

Most of the better fish there are suspended, and have only been finding them on electronics.  Got most to bite on cranks and jigs actually.  They ar shallow in the morning, evening- but most seem to move out and suspend over a channel edge throughout most of the day.  Especially with the blue bird days we have been having here. The rain this weekend should do some good.

Try slowly working a Carolina Rig in deeper channels. I bet they've been hanging out deeper.

thanks ill give those a try im going back soon ill let u guys know how we do

Blade baits (Silver Buddy) and spoons work well for deeper susp. fish feeding on shad.

+1... especially spoons.

I was catching 20+ fish a day no matter the weather conditions for a few weeks, but I too have lost contact with my fall fish. I can see some probable signs of the turnover, but its more subtle than usual. I have tried shallow and deep with limited results for both. I believe the turnover needs a little time to stabilize before the bite will get good again. The fish are just spread out and not concentrated like they were before.

Stay around the shad and drop a spoon. Money.

Ran into the same thing last Sunday. Chased bait fish in the shallows, did not get a bite. We moved out of the same pocket to the main lake point and started catching fish. Still a shallow bite but for some reason they wanted to be near the deeper water. Hope that helps.

Stay away from Evergreen then as well...it is dead as dead.  Clinton has been pretty hot, Dawson okay if you like small fish.

ok clinton is kinda far but i know it is a pretty good lake so we might give that a try

Ya got me.  All the bass on my favorite (local) pond seem to have evaporated to.

Hopefully clinton's good otherwise because there's really nowhere else to try :(
