saltwater bait scent and bass

Featured Replies

i was curious if anyone has tried the berkley saltwater baits for bass...there are alot of good looking swimbait type lures, and jerk shads made by berkley for saltwater that i think would be attractive to bass. The scent of the salt water baits are a bit different than the scent of the freshwater baits. i was just wondering if this had any kind of negative affect on bass, and if anyone has tried them with success while bass fishing.

I've used the Yum shrimp flavored scent before while fishing for bass and  caught a bunch of fish with it.   So I don't see why any other saltwater scent would not work.

But I fish a bunch of brackish water, so I don't know how well it would work in inland freshwater.

Berkley® 5" GulpAlive!® Saltwater Jerk shad has produced such a stir on the fresh water scene the Berkley has introduced:

7 Jerk Shad

5 Crazy Leg Jerk Shad

6 Lizards

4 Crawfish

7 Super Worms

And a host of other offerings ;)

I don't buy much in the way of freshwater baits or lures, I use my saltwater stuff for bass and it works just fine
