What different ways do you guys fish the Reaction Innovations Skinny Dippers?

Featured Replies

I rig them on a 4/0 hook, with a 1/8 screw in bullet and just swim them back in,, just like a swim senko or other soft paddle tail swim bait.I love them, they creat tons of action (myrod tip wabbles as if I were throwing a trap or spinner bait)

I tihnk they have decent action when fished slow, comparable or better than a swim senko.

I don't really like them, seem like yes they do need to move along at a good clip to get the tail going. When I did have a bit of success with them I was swimming them fast through sparse stands of cattails in shallow dirty water, and the tail was thumping under the water to make a wake. I was rigging them with a keel weighted EWG hook to keep them just under the surface, and using R.I. Screwed up bullet head to get them to slide through the tails with out pulling down the hook.

Try one on an Evo Shake2 jighead. Don't rig it using the post. Thread it on the hook shank; just like you would a grub.

Good for swimming, and very good for bottom bouncing.

Talking with a couple Alabama guides and locals it seems the Skinny Dipper is the preferred swimbait for shallow water applications or surface swimming down there. They also all suggested using a regular EWG and using the RI screw in head and to weight it just insert a nail weight in the belly.
