Modified a chatterbait

Featured Replies

Last night I modified a 1/4 oz chaterbait by trimming the skirt and adding part of a white pearl senko cut carefully up the center to create paddles as  a trailer.

Can't wait to try it out tomorrow, hope it gives a sight that bass haven't seen before

Sounds interesting, any pictures?

Here is a Pic (i found some batteries)

Never had any luck with the white senkos so I thought instead of junking them (since the price takes a bit out of my wallet) I would try them in a new fashion.

I hope this works

it's the standard size sizmic, not the junior :D

Other trailers I like are: Fluke, rage craw, zoom fat albert grub, paca craw, berkley power minnows, zoom finesse worm.

putting a 10" power worm on the back give the bait great action, great for weed lines.

I dont even use chaterbaits with the skirt anymore unless nightfishing.

I have been removing skirt and adding flukes and banjo minnows on the back of mine, it works amazing.  It creates a very erratic strike reflex producing lure.

the 5" Bass assasin flukes work the best for it.  if you use too small of a fluke it will spin

the Lake Fork Magic Shad make unreal chatterbait trailer, they dance like crazy! Spots in my neck of the waters hammer em when the shad run is on.

I have found the best way to modify a Chatterbait is to swap it for a Pure Poison from Strike King. :D

i saw the magic shad at wal mart and thought about using it as a chatterbait trailer....good idea! ill have to try that.
