fishing cumberland lake 10/11-10/13

Featured Replies

Hey guys, a friend and I are fishing cumberland lake for the first time putting in by the dam.  We are going to fish at night and during the day.  your fishing expertise would e greatly appreciated!  I am thinking about swimming a jig on the bottom of the main lake points with a beaver trailer.  Also trying a black spinnerbait as well.  What would you do?  Where should we fish this time of year?  Thanks in advance.  Oh my friend is going to throw 2 flukes on a 3-way.?  Should I throw him in the lake? ;D

Welcome aboard!

The water is still too hot for smallmouth, the bite is EXTREMELY slow. I suggest focusing on largemouth and spots right now.

One word: points!  That's about all you need to know about Cumberland.  See if you can get your hands on some Silver Buddies and jig them vertically off the points.  Both the spots and the smallmouth love them.
