Crawfish behavior, life cycle etc.

Featured Replies

What info can be shared about the crawfish life cycle? This can information can be used to catch more smallies.

I don't know much, about them and would like to learn more.

One thing I heard at a seminar from a local tx fisherman.......He dropped an aqu view to 45 ft of water on a very clear lake loaded with smallmouth.....

There was a crawfish on the bottom in that deep of water...

The "References" will lead you to articles and

studies in much greater detail. You will be very

surprised at how many species there are and

the variations just in individual states. I suspect

the Great Lakes Region has a thousand or more

sub-species!

There's a reason crawfish are often called "bugs".

Here are a couple of links which have proved invaluable in studying the life cycle of this forage species:

Hope this is of some help.

When you talk about crawdads , we always question weather our jigs or tubes match the color of the ones under the boat .. Well here are a few to tie or dye your jigs and tubes from

(Greens, Browns, Reds, Oranges, Tans, etc)

Enjoy
