I've never fished Door county, but here is a sight that I use to check my local areas. I've taken it to the Door county area for you:

Your gonna have to sign up to use some of the features and as a side note, the weather for this week is gonna be less than agreeable.....hot, humid, and thunderstorms predicted throughout the week.

Good luck, I know Door is a place to really smack around the smallies and have always wanted to head that way.

"Smallmouth bass fishing has continued to be steady around Sturgeon Bay and on the West side of the county. Working in 7-15 feet of water with plastics and stick baits have produced some nice fish. A smallmouth tournament out of Sturgeon Bay last weekend drew around 100 boats with the winner bringing in a two day six fish limit around 25 pounds."- July 29th DNR report

Haven't been there this year yet but I normaly get up there 2 or 3 times a year. My folks have a house up there. Suspending rattling cranks in a golden shiner pattern work well in the summer. Carolina rigged tubes/goby immitators. Wacky jig senkos. White on white spinnerbaits are also a good option. Bigger fish will be suspending off reefs in 20-30fow or more, but you should be able to pick up plenty of 2-3 pounders fishing shallower.

If you've never fished Door County before BE CAREFUL. You need some good maps. There are plenty of reefs and underwater islands that can wreak havoc on you. Also the weather can turn on an instant. My dad called me today and said they lost a 19ft Lund this week. The boat was trolling for salmon in 3-4 footers. Downrigger got caught on the bottom, and pulled the boat under. They were rescued by another fishing boat.

Early spring and late fall is trophy hunting season.

Good luck.

Did you get any of the storms earlier today?

Well I fished egg harbor in the morning and got a total of 8 smallies. Mostly small but did manage to get one close to 4lbs. All on dropshot and tubes. After, I ate lunch then headed to fishcreek and that's when the storms hit me hard! I got completley soaked, but did manage to get 3 smallies all on dead sticked zoom finesse worms dropshotted. Again I'm going out tomarrow. Tell you how it goes.

The bite seems to be on in the harbors!
