New Favorite Stream Bait

Featured Replies

After 75 smallmouths in 6 hours on a small local stream today, I am officially in love with the Zoom Tiny Brush Hog in Watermelon Red.  Threw it on a red 1/16 oz. gopher tackle mushroom head on 6 lb. hybrid and an UL spinning rod.  Talk about fun.

My son uses them at the local ponds and catches tons of bass on them. He's using a Big Bite 1/16 head and his hook up rate improved subsantially. That watermelon red is a great color.

my "go to" stream smallie bait is a T-rigged zoom baby brush hog with a 1/4 ounce tungsten weight. i have found that just dragging it along the bottom is the best method compared to hopping. I have caught several catcfish using this rig an technique. The crazy thing is iv had them in my plastics bag forever and decided to finally give them a try.

backwater, what type of big bait jig head does your son use?  I went on their website and they have quite a few different 1/16 weighted jig heads.  My guess was the ball head?  Let me know. Thanks.

I definitely want to try this lure out, I had a bag of zooms once but never used them.  The watermelon red bait is totally off color, definitely want to try it.

I have a lot of luck in early morning and late evening hours with the Candy Bug color Tiny Brush Hog. I have also done well on the Green Weenie color on a drop-shot. I think ill try them on a jighead next ;).
