Rage Baby Craw?

Featured Replies

Ok guys I am getting on the rage bandwagon and am really interested in the baby craw. Will be fishing these on a small Texas rig for smallmouth and largemouth. Will be fishing in rocky river system lake and rivers with clear to stained water. My question is what colors do you all recommend? I have a few in mind but thought you may have had some luck on certain colors! Thanks!

While I certainly agree with 5bass, if I were to pick just 3 colors, I'd go with Falcon Craw, black/blue, and Candy Craw.

Hey Shane, I wish we made them in the Falcon Lake Craw color... maybe in the near future ;) Rangerphil, I don't live in your area but I always keep Green Pumpkin on hand for all three sizes of our Craws and Lobsters. With JJ's variety of dip colors, I can Q-tip the GP craws and get any number of tasty colors for the fish :) Before we mass produced the Falcon Lake Craw color, I would use red dye to color one side of a GP craw and let the chewing begin :D Hope you have a great time with'em!

Thanks everyone! I am going to go with candy craw because everyone suggested it, and occ. craw, and I liked the look of the big Tex and dirty craw! Has anyone tried the last two colors I mentioned?

Thanks to big o also green pumpkin is awesome in everything made but for these I am going to take a break from that color, just get wore out looking at the same thing all the time! Also do you guys prefer the baby craw to the regular craw for smallmouth and largemouth under five pounds? I will be Texas rigging most of the time with these.

I have used all the colors of the baby craw except the Pearl and my favorites are watermelon red, candy craw, and the bama craw.

Big Tex and Dirty Craw have both been good producers for Smallmouth here on the upper Mississippi River. I dip the tips of the claws in merthiolate JJ's Magic...produces a nice orange color and provides scent as well. You needn't worry about using the Rage Craw for Smallies under 5 lbs., especially river Smallies. We've caught tons of Smallies weighing less than 5 lbs. on Rage Craws, both the regular size and the baby ones.

Green pumpkin and summer craw are my favorites. The baby craws are excellent on a t-rig, but don't limit them to just that. They are my most productive drop shot bait and they make a great little jig trailer too.

Amen on the jig trailer! Split shot rig is gonna get worn out this year as well.

Green pumpkin, summer craw and watermelon red.
