Beginner From Texas

This looks just like the place I've been looking for.

It doesn’t take much to get me outdoors, whether that is wildlife photography or camping with my family at our favorite parks.

As luck would have it, a good friend of mine has access to some great bass fishing lakes South of Houston. Being very much a beginner fisherman my technique has been pretty much - put a hook on a plastic worm, throw it out in the water, reel it in. Then wonder why I don't catch (m)any fish.

This forum looks like a great place to educate myself on the “art” of fishing.

This forum is THE BEST place to educate yourself! Read the articles and ask questions when necessary. A lot of guys here with massive amounts of good information! WELCOME :)

Welcome! Im new to this site as well, but not new to fishing. What part of Houston do live in? I can share some good spots with you. Youd be surprised at how many lakes we have in the Houston area. I would be happy to help anytime. My Bass club called today and we were looking for another non-boater for a tournament at Choke Canyon. We could not find anyone, so one of the boaters cancelled. Give me a buzz sometime. If you are interested maybe you can join us some time. When you fish in a bass club, you learn a hell of alot faster than you would fishing on your own.
