a group of us,from south africa are planning a bass fishing trip to cuba during the course of 2012.any info regarding this venture will be highly appreciated, best time of year to fish, safety, accomodation, boat hire, etc

thanks,zee!

I am an American who happens to live in Italy. I have fished many Bass Tournaments here in Italy. During these tournaments I have met an Italian Dr. who goes to Cuba pretty much every year to fish Lake Leonero. He has been going there for many years. He tells me December-February is a great time to fish Cuba. The lodge he uses is Casa Batida. I have included the site's link below.

I have been going to Lake Baccarac the past few years to fish for trophy bass. The fishing there is phenomenal. However, with all the violence lately I think I'll be switching to Cuba too.

Good luck and please let me know if you finalize your plans to Cuba.
