Tired Of Hair Jigs Yet?

Featured Replies

I had a few 1/8 oz ball head jigs left, so I tied some hair (and some marabou) to them.

Going to get some jigs without the plastic keeper... That gets in the way and makes the hair stand up funny. I think they turned out ok though for my second attempts!

They look good Nate!

Man, I really wish my vice wasn't broke! I need to tie up a few more myself!

Thanks man! I need to get a better vise. Mine is too wide (the clamps) so it's hard to tie small stuff, but it's awesome for jigs like this.

Thanks Jig, I love tying these jigs more than I do making flies (in fact, I haven't made any flies since LOL).

Yeah that is going to be my next target. I have some old spinnerbaits with junk skirts, they are getting haired LOL

I actually tried that on one an didn't like it at all. Now slip some crystal flash in the silicone skirt with a zonker strip trailer, now you're in business. B)

Flashabou under a transluscent silicone front facing skirt, could be an idea. Ahhh crap, now you got me thinking. I'm gonna try that tomorrow. I have some pearl flashabou that needs a home...preferably on a spinnerbait inside a bass' mouth. LOL

I need some flash - All I have is bucktails and marabou. I wanted to make sure I'd keep doing this before I went nuts. I have an idea for a 'sexy shad' hair pattern. I'm sure someone has done it by now though.

Was going to use that blue for the top, fade some gray and white down the side, put in a chartreuse stripe, then end the bottom completely white with some flash, probably put the flash throughout too. Would make a killer swimjig! Steal that idea if you want, I really don't care haha

Try using a pair of wire cutters or a file to remove the "rubber keeper".

I won't "steal" your idea...LOL...make it and post it.

Lol I need to get white hair and some flashabou.
