Came back from college today and stopped by bass pro on the way home. My budget was 40 bucks but I spent 52...kinda figured it would be like that anyways.

The best purchase so far was the tru-tungsten tru-life swimbait, I caught three bass of it today in the St Johns river. The bass just annihilate it; I leave the bearings out and let it float. Caught 2 bass of a Yum Money Minnow and have yet to try the strike king burner spinnerbait and the swim senko.

Lookin forward to a summer of fishing

Wow, a fellow Jacksonvillian!  Where are you fishing at in the st johns?  My parents have a house on the st johns near the buckman bridge and i have yet to catch a bass in there.  To be honest ive never really fished for bass on the main river,  just back in the creeks,  I always thought we were too far north and the salinity levels were too high for bass.

I usually go down to trout creek or back near Clarks fish camp. I live in Mandarin so I'm not too far from the creeks. I don't really like fishing the river, it's iffy at best. As far As the salinity levels are concerned, bass can pretty much adapt to anything. Of course they prefer fresher water but you can still find them on the main river.
