1St Frog Fish Of The Year

Featured Replies

Here in MO water temps just getting into the upper 50's. Caught my first fish of the year recently and it got me wondering:

What's the coldest water temp you've ever caught one on a frog?

Not sure, but one thing I have noticed is that fish in the spring are more likely to just rOll on frogs than in the summer where they actually try to eat it.

the lowest water temperature ive caught anything on a frog was in the low 50s

the high 40's. was a very soft hit though for a topwater

I've always thought that to. I was so excited to try my new Koppers frogs but I knew it would just lead to heartache...which they still have ended up doing. Koppers look great but they are about equal with Spro when it comes to good hook-ups. Hard to beat the ugly, old Scum frawg.

Probably the mid 50's for me. Water temps where in the low 60's Tuesday and I killed them on a Cavitron buzzbait. First topwater fish of the year and first time I'd ever fished the bait and I had almost a 20lb limit! I really like the looks of the Spro frog but it has yet to catch the size fish for me that the scum frog usually does.
