Bps Extreme

Featured Replies

Just got it in the mail today! Pairing it up with a shimano carbonmax 6'6" medium rod. I think 10lb line. What you guys think??

I own an extreme etx10shb which is the high speed 7:1 ratio. Bought it new 2 yrs back. Great reel for $100. I also have several older model extremes. The newer version seems to be alot quieter than the older. I just did a complete breakdown and thorough cleaning on two of the older models and the newest. There seems to be no signs of excessive wear and it still had factory greese. Granted it is not used nearly as much as my shimanos or revos. IMO for half the price they are the best reels at $100.

I have the bps extreme spinning reel and hate it with a passion but its my only spinning reel so I'm forced to use it.

So I forgot to mention its a baitcaster, oooppps...

Never said they were the best, only they are good reels for $100. Everyone knows they aren't shimano or abu but the reel handle turns the same as all . They are a little noisier but the reel catches fish just the same. You don't need the top of the line to catch em. I wouldn't switch from my revos to extremes but if I had only a $100 to buy a baitcaster Etreme is at the top. I did bring in a carp I foul-hooked well over 40 lbs with one and the reel didnt flinch

got one for my birthday and really like it. It's one of the most fluid feeling reels I have used. I like it better than some higher priced reels I have used. You won't be disappointed.

Buying it for 50.00, how could you be disappointed right?! I also own the PQ Tournament series, and its a awesome reel! Hopefully they go on sale cause I'll pick up another one..

I got two comb's for 99 bucks a few years back (year before recurve handle). These were the first baitcasters I self supertuned.Took the chance cause i really wanted the rods. These reels responded the best to my self supertuning out of the 4 different brands of reels I have done myself. Yes I'm not a pro at reel mechanics, but was surprised at the way they responded.

What kind of tuning did you do?
