After A Snag?

Featured Replies

I was wondering is it just me, or after i have got snagged on a log(or w/e) and the hook has been bent straight out do you retie you knot or just keep fishing and not think twice about it? i always retie, didn't know if it was just a confidence booster or do a lot of people retie as well?

I would change the hook if it got bent straight out, so I'd have to retie.

When in doubt, retie.

After catching two or three bass, retie.

After throwing into strucure or cover check your line and retie.

Fishing rocks, retie.

Check your knot, too. :)

I snag rocks on almost every cast. I check my line religiously. It has cost me a few decent fish. Even if I'm not snagging on anything I still check it every few cast.

A quick inspection and common sense will guide you. Change or retie if needed, or do nothing if not needed.
