Salty Spiders

Featured Replies

Picked up some salty spiders this wkend to give a try for some smallmouths. I know some people swear by them. Just curious as to how most guys fish them....thanks

I rig them on a jighead, 1/4 to 1/2 oz., depending on depth or speed that i need. Roundball, football, or shadheads without brushguards. When i want a more weedless set-up, i use a spiderhead.

Not trying to sound like an idiot but do you fish it like a jig? hop along the bottom? steady slow retrieve? sorry just not really sure what to do here

I usually fish them on a 1/4-1/2 oz jig head, but this past week had good success T-rigging them with a pegged bullet weight (1/8-1/4) in heavy cover. They are a very versatile bait. Swimming them can also be effective. Experiment and enjoy. :)
