The head on this 3/8 oz jig is white,but has a rosy pearl shade to it. The skirt is a mixture of white and blue with black fleck and the trailer is an iridescent purple color.The Weedguard is white. This came as you see it in a package marketed by FLW.

Under what conditions would this jig be effective? With those colors,is it still mimicking a Craw...? If not what creature does this color pattern mimic?

Also the trailer seems a little on the long side...No?

I would just swim it to imitate a shad! Probably won't ever see me throwing a white jig on the bottom.

Color variations of the Louisiana Red Swamp Crawfish

Suppose around my waters,this jig would just be something "different" for the fish to look at. IE something theyve never seen before,as the Crawfish in my home lake look like this:

Individual specimens of crawfish vary in color from the normal population. Color variants are almost endless with respect to degree and/or pattern of expression.

The weedguard is flourocarbon, not white.

While I probably wouldn't purchase a jig in this color, if I had it I would use it. It looks like a clear water bait to me. As far as a longer trailer, I prefer them. I haven't had that much luck with the pork frog types but the 4 inch Uncle Josh Bass Strip or a plastic worm have been productive for me. I also prefer the old style hair jig over the rubber skirted ones. Just my .02.
