Would you be a boater or non-boater?

One piece of advice I could give you is to learn how to pitch and flip... well.

I found P&F absolutely essential!

Sounds like you have a long road ahead of you. There are thousands of posts and videos on this site give you more info than you could ever absorb. Your going to have to join a club. I would recommend a small or local club to get your feet wet and see if tourney fishing is really for you. It's not all chocolate bars and gumdrops. As a non boater you will be limited as to how much tackle you can bring with you so the stuff you choose will need to be what you are confident using. You will also be limited in your prefising.

So really confidence is the key here so my main baits would be a rubber worm a jerkbait (rapala orignal floater) and a spinnerbait also some lizards and senkos but i also want to get into crankbait fishing

Just use what you usually use, pay attention, and add to your arsenal as you learn.

If you can prefish with your boater, that would be ideal.

Do a search on Pitching and Flipping here. Also, lots of youtube videos so you could see what it looks like.

Respectfully, I don't think you are at the level of targeting. Just catch fish and have fun doing it.

Judging from your questions, you have a lot to learn.

Probably the best thing to do is to read whatever you can on bass fishing, practice your casting in the backyard (especially pitching & flipping), and join a local club as a non-boater.

In my mind, the most important thing is to cast accurately to put the bait in front of bass. Trust me on this.

You really need to use maps to have a good idea of where to start looking. You could also get a hand held GPS and a Navionics chip that will have maps with depth charts for several lakes.

Where would i get one of these handheld gps and navionics maps chips for nh lakes if you could post a good fairly cheap one with the navionics chip it would be great something around 100-200 dollars for the whole setup
