That would be neat to get one of those tagged fish, but no we didn't.Have you been out lately Terry?

What do you get for a Tagged fish? I haven't heard of that.

They put tagged fish in Howard, and Raystown. The tags have different amounts of money on them,up to a million dollars. If you catch a fish with a tag,you get the amount of cash on the tag. There might have been a 3rd lake but I can't remember.Hope someone from B.R. catches one.Good Luck!

Do you have to sign up in advance somewhere or just cash in on a prize? That is a good way to get people interested in fishing.

Pretty sure you just catch the fish and claim the prize,no sign up that I know of.

Bunch of lakes in Pa that got tagged fish. In central Pa, Raystown, Howard and Penn's Creek got at least 1. I heard they were bass, walleye and trout (anyone care to guess where the trout is? ha). I say we start a big old bass resource search squad and split the money LOL

Hi Nate,I'm with you on the B.R. search squad.Good Luck everybody!

To get the prizes for the tagged fish, you need to sign up at Cabela's website under the fishing for millions thing.

No I haven't been out bass fishing Joe. Work got in the way. Went to the local creek the fish commission stocked and caught a few rainbows. Going somewhere tomorrow, haven't decided where yet though.

Good Luck Terry,I hope you catch a bunch! I made it over to Canoe Creek again this afternoon, caught 5,nothing over 15" but they are still on beds.I missed a bunch ? and then both my reels took a dump(need some TLC)LOL they are being overworked.Back to work tomorrow,YUK. jOE

Went to Canoe Creek today, caught a 14 incher. Wasn't a great day, but I spent it trying different soft plastic techniques, which I am woefully inadequate at currently. Figure trying and learning this stuff will pay off in the future. Staying off crankbaits until the opener.

I hit raystown on the 1st. Fished out of shy beaver, ran down the lake, mostly between 19 and 20. I caught 8 and my dad managed 3. We each lost a few too. Fished alot of steep rock, most fish came out of 4-10 feet. I caught most of mine on an original shad rap. two on a red eye shad, and one on a spinnerbait. Dad caught his on a shad rap and a chatterbait. Water was pretty decent, up a fair bit and had some color for sure. Not much in the way of floating junk however. Biggest was just under 19" and 3.5 lbs. Most were between 13" and 16". They all seemed spawned out. good luck guys!

Jim

Caught 8 on Rose Valley yesterday morning, most all on plastics t-rigged. Ever since they switched to 15 inch limit it seems everything I catch there is around 13 to 14 inches. Oh well its not like I keep them anyway it just seems they're all the same size class. Still a nice morning.

Sounds Great guys!I'm glad everybody is catching fish.I can't wait to get back out.Think we will hit Raystown or Glendale next. Good Luck to all. Joe

Hit Colyer on the kayak - slow day, but decent. Small bass were in the creek channel, biggest fish came off the steep rocks near the point... Tons of pickerel! All fish came on wacky rigged stickbaits.

Has anyone been on the Juniata lately? Thinking about going down either this weekend or the opener, was wondering if it was still real high, or if it came back to normal.

Hey guys,I had the best day ever on Canoe Creek.Fished between 6am-2pm,caught 30 Bass.Used the same Baby Brush Hog color as always. They are done spawning over there, all fish were caught in 5-6' of water around pads and growing weed lines. This is a personal best for me as far as amount caught in one trip.Sizes were 7"-17". Joe

I guess this isn't Central Pa, but had a good day on Crooked Creek today. Caught a bunch on spoons and shad patterned Rattle Trap.

Hello again guys.My oldest son and I were at Canoe Creek again today, and it was great. We caught 31 bass. That place is Awesome. My youngest son is meeting me over at Canoe Creek Wednesday afternoon, will let you know how we do. Joe

I was on it last weekend. It's only up about a foot higher than normal for this time of year. Smallies have been on FIRE the past two weeks. Which section you interested in?

From the spillway to the point or Newton Hamilton. Those are the areas I fish mostly.

Hello again guys,Wednesday afternoon was another good fishing trip to Canoe Creek. We caught 20 bass, all sizes up to 15".If you get over there to fish, fish isolated pads in 4'-6'h2o.Good Luck!! PS.if it sounds like I'm bragging about all these bass I'm not.I just want to share one of the best seasons I've had ever,Thanks Joe

Raystown is fishing well. Post-spawn now, bass chasing baitfish in the weeds. I got to watch a small school of (6) 2lbers chasing and slashing bait in a weedline near James creek. Boated 4 best was 3lb 10oz. and with that one, it is my luck to catch a tagged fish that was already claimed, figures..... Water temp is 74 on surface, at least 6ft of clarity.
