I Need To Catch Some Fish.

Featured Replies

First off, hello! I'm new to the forum and the area. I've been fishing almost everyday the last 6 days, with nothing to show but 1 dink trout. I'm originally from Texas, but am in the process of moving to Portland and my wife and I are using her parents' as our "home base" while finding jobs, finding a house, etc.

I've fished the Columbia mainly, at Two Rivers Park and Columbia Point Marina and the inlet on the other side of the bridge. Been throwing primarily the varying shades of green tube baits with no success. I would love to go fishing with someone who catches fish, and maybe could stand to teach a few things about fishing in the area. I've always fished lakes, and it seems to be a little different. I'm probably not going to be in the area more than a few more days, so if anyone us going tomorrow or the next day, is love to tag along, be it on a boat or bank fishing.

Tight lines!

Try posting in the Western bass fishing forum under local fishing forums, you might be able to get in touch with someone that well. Welcome to the forum btw! :)

Welcome to the forum. It sounds like you need to change from the tubes to worm or craws if you are going to continue to use plastics. In my 45 years of fishing they never changed the name of the game to catching. Just keep going out there and having fun. Good luck on your move.

I totally agree with the above statements!!!

Welcome to the forum and good luck with the move.

First I would do some research before heading to the local waters to see what their diet consists of this time of year.

I would try different colors blue/black either worm or jig and slow your presentation down to a crawl to see what that will bring ya.

Or maybe a 6" pumpkin seed lizzard with a chartreuse swim tail Texas or Carolina rigged would be a good place to start as well.

Both of these combonations seem to work well no matter where I go.

Good luck and be safe!!!
