Thin Fin Surprise

Featured Replies

I was looking through one of my fishing books when I came across an article about the Storm ThinFin flat-sided crankbait that was introduced in 1965.

I looked at the bait in the picture and thought that I had the ThinFin at home.

I found it in one of my crankbait tackle boxes, and sure enough, it is a Storm ThinFin T-2 blue scale Silver Shad.

The lure was bought at a local antique shop and I have the original box and insert from the Norman, OK company.

I paid $1.29 plus tax for it, and it is in excellent condition.

I threw it a few times to see its action but now I am going to retire it back to its original plastic container and add it to my antique lure collection.  ;)

Old lure collections are kool.

I have quite a few of those and I still use them.  I have caught many bass on those baits.  I love to use them in shallow or over thick submerged weeds.  I have had the best luck with the crome ones.  It is something that the fish don't see every day now days.  I also think that they are a great addition to an antique lure collection.
