Surprising Rain Baits?

Featured Replies

I have a trip planned (WI) for this weekend and the forecast has changed to rain. I’m looking for some tips on what to throw. I have abuzzbait tied on almost all the time as it is; so that’s covered. Got a few Baby Torpedoes at the ready too. I’m hoping you guys are willing to share some newer, maybe surprising, baits that are producing during and after some good rain. Thanks

Colorado Blade Spinnerbait & Louder Cranks too.

I like throwing swimbait (6" Hudds and the such) in the rain since the splash they make is somewhat tempered by the rain, maybe it's in my head but it seems to work.

A swimjig or a wake bait are both really good baits for me in the rain.

i use the same thing that i would use on a cloudy day, the fish are already wet they don't care about a little rain. ;)

Yesterday: black and blue swim jig, fished with a Rage Craw.

I like to fish a wakebait or wake a spinnerbait just under the surface. I work them fast and cover a lot of water, looking for bass that are willing to chase.

The 1st thing that always comes to my mind is a buzzbait.
