I would like to know what the best bait casting rod are made of today?

Back in the 1980 they was using Boron in the rods.

Who makes the best bait casting rods? I know you all have your favorites. But if someone would tell you could pick any rod that you would love to have and there was no cost to you and the price was no problem you could go as high as you wish what rod would you pick.

I always like the 51/2 foot rod although I do have a 5 foot one also. Which one do you like?

Also how is the Dalwa bait casting reels today?

I'd love a Dobyns Champion Extreme with a Daiwa Zillion Type - R casting reel with some Seaguar tatsu. Mmmmm.

I love my St. Croixs, but I would love to have a free G. Loomis NRX or GLX with a Shimano Core. Pretty much all of the better rods today are made out of graphite. To answer your Daiwa question, it seems like there newer reels are made cheaply and you have to pay a heavier price to get a quality reel with them. All of their reasonably priced reels that I've tried out have horrible gears, they slip very easily. As for the best reels, I would have to say you can't go wrong with a Shimano or Abu Garcia.

other. lamiglas excel. very sensative high quality rod for $110

You know I was thinking of Spingcasting reels not baitcasting reels.

While I am on baitcasting reels do they still make quick baitcasting reels? They were made in Germany.

I believe D.A.M. (the makers of the Quick line of reels) was bought out by Okuma a few years ago.
