Anybody ever thought about using a three-way swivel to put more than one bait out there on a c-rig?

Check your state law on that one - might find it to be illegal.

Also see the carolina rigging tips sticky thread at the top of this section.

You will want at least a 7 ft mh fast for chucking 1/2 to 1oz sinkers. A lot of guys just basically use their flippin sticks or frog rods.

Agreed.  & just like Bassin_Fin@tic said, you must use at least a 7' rod.  IMHO don't go any shorter.  You need that long rod to move a lot of line when setting the hook.  Also your main line should be fluorocarbon or braid.  Both of those will increase your sensitivity & are low stretch for setting the hook.  After doing it long enough you will be able to tell if the bottom is rock, mud, grass, gravel, etc...

It amazes me how many people don't use senko type baits on it,unless of course they are just keeping it a secret.

Flukes, sluggos, trickworms are among my very favorite

Other baits I frequently use would be brush hogs, sizmic and horny toads, sweet beavers, and especially paca craws. The hollow body of the paca is very well suited for a c-rig.

Also would like to add that instead of always switching baits try changing leader lengths. This can make the difference that most people miss.

X2 People automatically think lizard. On the Roadtrip at KY Lake, Uncle Leo was dragging a senko and a 10" anaconda. If I recall, he smoked me that day.

If I had to go with one bait it would be the RageTail Lizard hands down. Best leg action for c-rigging and any other rigging for that matter but no lizard I have tried has any leg action when dragging a c-rig slowly along the bottom except the RageTail.

Good timing on this thread.  Just starting to try a C-rig. How about a Smoking Rooster or Pit Boss?

I realize that this is an old thread, very old.  But informative.

Top 3 in no particular order are: Lizard, Creature Bait and Grub. I know, I know big surprise right? haha
