Crankbait Storage

Featured Replies

So I have been trying to figure out how to organize my cranks but I came to the issue of how do you guys remember the depth your cranks can go to? Labeling the spot it's in the box? I dunno if I'm just being OCD or what..

I use a Sharpie and put the diving depth of each bait on bottom side of lip. :)

I also put the weight of the bait on the bill/belly.

On my box I put some Hockey tape on the lid and sharpie depth and bill type and group by that. I just look for my type and depth then I pick my color.

I write the depth as well as the weight of the lure on the belly of each of my cranks. makes it pretty much foolproof.

I go by feel. If the bait isn't going where I want it, I try a different bait. The depths on the box are only in lab situations anyway.

x2. i can usually also look at the bill and get a very good idea of what depth they run at. i dont use specific boxes, i just throw them where they fit in my crankbait boxes

I actaully sport mine by lure weight, not depth, since the weight dictates what rod I'll be using, and I tend to switch baits a lot before settling on one.
