Companion Rod For New Citica

Featured Replies

I am looking for a rod to go with my new citica. I'm looking for a rod that would be good for all around fishing. I have an older quantum baitcaster on a quantum flippin stick that i would use. I would like a rod for everything else. From the readiing I have done i would be looking for a 6 to 6'6" medium or medium heavy rod. There are so many choices out there. Also something that would be a good value as well.

Thanks,

Rob

683c Powell max

Hard to beat, as well as a Dobyns Savvy.

If you're looking for an all-around rod, a Shimano Compre is hard to beat. That's what I have my Citica saddled on.

Nice as the Powell and the Dobyns are, I won't drop $150 on a general purpose rod. Of course, that's just me.

I own a 7'0mh vendetta, and I love it. I use it for everything from 3/4oz spinner baits to 1/8th oz tubes, handles all well. I have it with a curado and 12# mono and I have found myself using that combo the majority of the time. I recently purchased the veritas and an awaiting its arrival, I'm hoping it is similar to the vendetta.

And with a vendetta @ $80 you can't beat it

carbonlite, xfactor, pro qualifier, veritas, hell just pick one
